Reverse Osmosis Membrane Cleaning

Reverse Osmosis Membrane Cleaning Procedure

1. Prior to cleaning a membrane our technician inspects it, notes the condition, and installs it in the test/cleaning station and records pretest data.
2. The membrane is cleaned with high pH caustic solution to remove biological fouling.
3. The membrane is cleaned with low pH acid solution to remove metal ions.
4. If necessary, the membrane is again cleaned with a high pH solution.
5. The technician records post test data, then introduces a preservative and seals the membrane in a water tight container.
6. All testing is performed to manufacturer's specifications
